Maria Arusoo

For the first event of the BCC network I will present a film programme which will pose a question of defining peripheries and localities. The selection of films will act as a catalyst for further thinking about connections between the place, people and objects that are revealed to exist beyond the notions of remoteness and isolation. The films will address contingent meetings that result from the periphery as an event that simultaneously spreads across different temporalities.

Maria Arusoo is an artist and curator based in Tallinn. She works at the Centre for Contemporary Art, Estonia. She has studied contemporary art theory at Goldsmiths College, London, UK.
